Writing style comparisons

Comparing the writing styles used  in article writing and in fiction or story writing

An article writer might want to make this statement in his article: `Studying for a career is the key to escaping from your surroundings.’
A fiction writer could do the same as the article writer and write it as a statement, ie. somewhere in his story someone - either himself or one of his characters, could state it.
Or he could express the same idea in the story but express it differently, perhaps by creating a scene like this: `Cassie stared out of the apartment window. A long way down - or that’s how it seemed to her, a bunch of kids were jumping up and down on the roof of a car. “Why can’t we move out of here?” she said.
He sighed, tossed down his study notes and gently put his arms around her. “I told you, I have to get a better job first.”

Are there any advantages in expressing this idea - or any other idea- either in an article or in a story?(let’s call these two formats `article format’ and `story `format.)
One advantage of the article format is that it gets straight to the point. Another advantage is that it’s easy to write. One disadvantage is that, when compared to the story format, it isn’t very interesting.
One disadvantage of the story format is that it doesn’t get straight to the point. Another disadvantage is that it isn’t as easy to write. An advantage is that it is more interesting than the article format.

In advertising, the ideas are usually expressed in article format. Most ads. consist of a few statements which are joined together to form an article, or a kind of article. What if the ideas expressed in these articles were expressed in story format instead of in article format?

For example, the above scene could be re-written like this: `… “Why can’t we move out of here?” she said. He sighed, tossed down his study notes and gently put his arms around her. “We can move out of here when (not if - this is advertising, remember) I get a better job as a result of my studying at the (name of advertiser) online college.”
Or more entertainingly: `…Why can’t we move out of here?” she said. He sighed, tossed down his study notes and gently put his arms around her. “We could move out of here if you’d quit complaining and let me get on with studying at the (name of advertiser) online college.”
